Tennessee small claims courts by county

Every Tennessee county has a General Sessions Court that hears civil cases up to $25,000; you start the case by filing a civil warrant with the General Sessions civil clerk, which in most counties is the Circuit Court Clerk's office (a few counties, such as Shelby, Sevier, Cocke and Dickson, have a separate General Sessions clerk). File in the county where the defendant lives or does business, or where the deal or incident happened.
